Extinct Walt Disney World Attractions Tribute Video

Epcot's SMRT-1 Robot from Sperry

Epcot’s SMRT-1 Robot from Sperry

While Dreamfinder and Figment tug on my heart strings and I wish I could take a trip up that outside conveyor belt one more time and through the World of Motion…I do so very miss my beloved SMRT-1 Robot. He was my favorite!

Which one of these do you miss the most?

Besides Figment, SMRT-1 is my favorite Disney character! I remember seeing him on my first ever day at Walt Disney World. We spent a rainy evening in EPCOT Center (much to my disappointment at age 7) and I thought SMRT-1 in CommuniCore was the coolest thing ever. I remember buying one of those little slider puzzles featuring SMRT-1, but sadly it made its way to a landfill some years later.

  • Thanks for posting this! I love reminiscing those extinct attractions.
Overall, I miss EPCOT Center from the early 90s. Horizons, World of Motion, Journey Into Imagination, Wonders of Life…they were all fantastic and made Epcot my favorite park when I was younger.
Also, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride…so fun and sorely missed! “Motormania is NOT a Crime!!” 🙂

I also remember that. Of course Figment is my favorite, but he is not the same without Dreamfinder. I posted a picture a while back of little me with the two of them soon after EPCOT opened.

I miss Cranium Command. It was one of my favorite attractions in *all* of WDW.

Wow I miss them all! Mostly all of the old Epcot rides. Also, it got me thinking about River Country and after some searching I came across these pictures.. VERY SAD

  • OH MAN!!! I had an old plush/vinyl figment that I wish I hung on to …along with a plush E.T. I'd give my right arm for now…. =(

  • I even miss the old water bubble elevators from The Living Seas…Welcome to Seabase Alpha….

  • Do you remember being able to walk up the stairs in the glass pyramid area of Journey Into Imagination and see all the Kodak Pictures? And lovely Cyndi Lauper singing True Colors in the 3D Magic Journey pre-show would practically bring me to tears every time….

  • I LOVE that pavilion!!! Have you been in there lately…for Food and Wine or Flower and Garden? It's only a shell of its former self.

  • Yep…I saw that thread. Wonder how they got in to get the pics??? I wouldn't want to take the chance of being trespassed

Hi , Amanda. I just found your webpage today. I love it. You've done a wonderful job.

I just watched your video of WDW Extinct Attractions. It brings back so many memories for me. I've been visiting the WDW since 1973. I hope I'll get the chance to meet you at the World sometime.

Are you possibly going to be there for the BOGP Treeehouse Event on October 1st or the Monorail Scavenger Hunt on October 2nd?

One that I didn’t see on the video here (might be on the other one) was that playroom in Journey to Imagination with the lighted shapes that you step on that made sounds. And the giant Pinpressions tables.
