“The Parade Route” a Disney Poem by Deborah Booth Armstrong
Today’s Guest Blog post is from Deborah Booth Armstrong author of “Perfume for the Soul”. Her inspiration for the following poem came on a recent trip to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Deborah recalls…”While waiting for the parade to start… the roadway was cleared of people. A large white Heron came flying down the cleared path in the opposite direction from where the parade was entering. Its wing span filled the parade route. It landed on a small kiosk right beside me. No one else seemed to notice. It sat there until I looked away to watch the start of the parade. It left the way it came. Just an example of one of the many unadvertised joys of a Disney day.”
The following is the poem she wrote from her experience that day at the Walt Disney World Resort.
“The Parade Route”
Beauty
Majesty
can enter
where the way
is cleared
step aside
make way
expect to be
a witness
to life
Enter His Kingdom
Be sure your eyes
are not betrayed
by watching
the wrong direction
He will spread
His wings
enter
where there’s room
stay as long as
distractions
do not leave Him
all alone
undetected
His beauty overlooked
Be sure
the best
is yet to come.
Until Next Time,
