Fresh off my weekend stay at the Hilton Bonnet Creek at Walt Disney World…I had to share with you the amazing 3 acre pool at this resort which includes a water slide, hot tub, lazy river, lap pool and zero entry lagoon style pool…all of which are connected!
The lazy river winds through lush tropical landscape, rock formations and under stone bridges with waterfalls in this free form pool.
Guests are invited to bring their own tubes but may also rent them for $5 a day or purchase them on-property at the Splash Shop.
Lounge chairs are a hot commodity but if you reach the pool before lunch-time you should be ok. We were even lucky enough to snag chairs under an umbrella which allowed us to stay poolside much, much longer. The pool area is open daily from 7am-midnight. The water slide hours are 10am-7pm.
Right now the Hilton Bonnet Creek is hosting “Summer Blast!” through September 5th, 2011. The “Summer Blast!” includes special themed weekend events (Our weekend was the Cupcake Lovers Weekend) which also include family-fun events at the pool area. Each night of the week you can catch a Dive-In movie on an inflatable screen. On Saturday we enjoyed a pool party hosted by Radio Disney with games and prizes.
We also participated in the Ducktona 500 Rubber Duck Race!
Our daughter adopted a rubber duck (#132) for $2 and it was dropped into the lazy river with hundreds of other guests’ ducks where it raced to the finish line….and….wait for it…..WON 2nd Place!!! Woo Hoo!
Other events that weekend included a Cupcake Walk, S’mores by the fireplace, candy bingo and a poolside scavenger hunt. We spent 4 hours at the pool that Saturday and loved every minute of it!
Forget paying $52.19 per person to take your family to a Disney Water Park! Stay at the Hilton Bonnet Creek and visit the one right in your backyard!
Special thanks goes out to the Hilton Bonnet Creek for hosting our stay.
