Disney Passholders Can Convert From Paper Tickets to MyMagic+ RFID Cards Today

Disney RFIDSince so many Passholders love to visit during Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival, going on now through May 19, Walt Disney World is offering a convenient way for Passholders to exchange their current paper Pass for a new card that allows them to use the new touch to enter feature at theme park main entrances with the same admission privileges as their current Pass.

If you are a Passholder, during your next visit, bring your paper Pass and valid ID to the Odyssey Center, located between Test Track and the Mexico pavilion, to get your new card. Please note that cards must be used by the same person who originally used the paper Pass.

At this time, the Odyssey Center is the only location where Passholders can receive the new cards. The Odyssey Center is open during regular park hours, and the best time to visit is Monday through Friday after 12:00 noon. Please keep in mind that Main Entrance ticket windows are unable to exchange Passes for the new cards.

In the coming months, Disney will provide more information here on other ways you’ll be able to exchange your Pass for a new card, as well as more information on MyMagic+ and when MagicBands will be available to Passholders.

Singer, songwriter, composer and producer Ne-Yo poses February 19th, 2013 with Princess Tiana at the Magic Kingdom theme park at Walt Disney World Resort. The Grammy Award-winning artist was in town for a taping of Kelly and Michael. Ne-Yo is set to embark on his international “R.E.D. Tour,” launching in the United Kingdom on March 4, 2013. Dates for Star Wars Weekends 2013 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Star-Wars-Weekends-mickey minnie luke leiaStar Wars Weekends, the Force-filled, fun-fest that takes place annually at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, returns to the Walt Disney World Resort galaxy every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from May 17-June 9, 2013.

A celebration of all-things-Star Wars, the special event is included in regular park admission to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Among the features: a special Star Wars-themed parade, appearances by Star Wars celebrities, special additions to Jedi Training Academy, a Star Wars-themed talk show, behind-the-scenes presentations, limited-edition merchandise, a nightly celebration and more.

The centerpiece of the celebration is Star Tours: The Adventures Continue, the immersive 3-D attraction that speeds guests through worlds featured in the Star Wars saga.

Also showcased at the event: the largest collection of official Star Wars characters gathered at any theme park in the world, roaming the areas and posing for meet-and-greet opportunities in front of themed scenery.

Take a run on the wild side and uncover the mystery of the clues!

Take a run on the wild side during the 2013 Expedition Everest Challenge, a thrill-packed, timed endurance event that combines a 5K adventure run through Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park with the challenge of a scavenger hunt. Your nighttime adventure starts in base camp where you’ll begin a journey along an obstacle strewn course. Then get set for all the excitement of a scavenger hunt in the spectacular setting of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Complete the challenge and escape with a special edition Compass finisher medal.

Double the adventure and fun and run as a two-person Trek team! Teams can be all male, all female, coed, military or mother/daughter.

How many castles can one theme park hold?

Located in Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort, Prince Eric’s castle is home to Ariel and her friends in Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid.   This new attraction will take guests through beautifully rendered scenes featuring classic songs from the popular animated feature film. The attraction is part of New Fantasyland expansion, a multiyear project and the largest expansion in Magic Kingdom history. The grand opening of New Fantasyland is set for December 6th, 2012.
