It doesn’t feel like a theme park, it feels like a national park. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort is one of eight Deluxe Resorts on Walt Disney World property. Nestled on the shore of Bay Lake and adjacent to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground and the Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is a welcome respite after a long hard day of fun playing in any one of the Disney theme parks.
It’s been quite some time since I’ve stayed at this resort and I am glad to see that not much has changed.
Much of what you’ll find in the way of furnishings is rustic, reminiscent of a turn-of-the-century National Park Lodge room. Headboards depict mountain scapes lush with wildlife.
The carvings that top the bed posts are intricate and the bedding follows suit with it’s Native American influenced pillows and throws. Can you spot Thumper? It’s all in the details. These little touches are what makes staying in a Disney Resort part of the magic of your Walt Disney World vacation.
More Disney detailing in this wall hook which is perfect for hanging purses, backpacks, wet bathing suits or bags of souvenirs.
A tree branch for a bathroom sconce and a sturdy wooden frame hold the bathroom mirror. I love that th bathroom is split. The vanity and double sinks are part of the main room while the shower/tub combination and toilet are in a separate room, allowing several members of your party to utilize different aspects while getting ready for a day at the parks or winding down after a night at them.
More Disney detailing in the shower. It’s only fitting that we see Disney woodland creatures here. Can you spot the Hidden Mickey?
The inside of your Disney’s Wilderness Lodge room isn’t the only thing that will transport you to the rustic majesty of America’s Great Northwest. The views from the balcony are just as stunning.
