Room Photos from Our Recent Stay at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort

Disney wilderness lodge resort lobby

It doesn’t feel like a theme park, it feels like a national park. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort is one of eight Deluxe Resorts on Walt Disney World property. Nestled on the shore of Bay Lake and adjacent to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground and the Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is a welcome respite after a long hard day of fun playing in any one of the Disney theme parks.

It’s been quite some time since I’ve stayed at this resort and I am glad to see that not much has changed.

Much of what you’ll find in the way of furnishings is rustic, reminiscent of a turn-of-the-century National Park Lodge room. Headboards depict mountain scapes lush with wildlife.

Disney wilderness lodge resort room bed headboardThe carvings that top the bed posts are intricate and the bedding follows suit with it’s Native American influenced pillows and throws. Can you spot Thumper? It’s all in the details. These little touches are what makes staying in a Disney Resort part of the magic of your Walt Disney World vacation.

A tree branch for a bathroom sconce and a sturdy wooden frame hold the bathroom mirror. I love that th bathroom is split. The vanity and double sinks are part of the main room while the shower/tub combination and toilet are in a separate room, allowing several members of your party to utilize different aspects while getting ready for a day at the parks or winding down after a night at them.

More Disney detailing in the shower. It’s only fitting that we see Disney woodland creatures here. Can you spot the Hidden Mickey?

The inside of your Disney’s Wilderness Lodge room isn’t the only thing that will transport you to the rustic majesty of America’s Great Northwest. The views from the balcony are just as stunning.

A Look Inside Seafarers Wood Carving in New Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom

Seafarers Wood Carving New Fantasyland magic kingdom

So much excitement around the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Opening this week! The Mine Train attraction is housed and travels around a huge mountain near the center of New Fantasyland. If you wander around that mountain to the side closet to Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid you’ll find Seafarers Wood Carving along with a huge unfinished wooden statue of Ariel’s father King Triton.

Let’s explore shall we?

As a frame of reference, here’s a shot of the exterior of the building. You can see the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train attraction behind the building. To the right is Prince Eric’s Village Market where guests can pick up a healthy snack. Directly behind you would be Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid. To the left is H. Goff Cartography, New Fantasyland’s DVC (Disney Vacation Club) Sales Center.

As with the windows on Main Street U.S.A., there is a bit of history behind this sign. Ralph Harper Goff, a Disney Legend, was the artist behind the design of the Nautilus in Disney’s first live-action film, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Coincidentally, this very building is built on top of the area that originally housed the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Submarine Voyage attraction from 1971-1994.

More wooden statues.

These raw logs will no doubt be fashioned into fine nautical creations.

I just adore these little details at the Walt Disney World theme parks. It’s what makes them so magical.

Disney Photobomb Friday: Disney Cruise Line Restaurants Are for Sleeping

Imagine my delight when I went to check out all of our professionally shot photos on the last night of our most recent Disney Cruise aboard the DREAM and discovered this gem.  Can you spot the photobomb? That’s a mirror inlay in the back of the booth that Cruise Teen and my friend Katherine were sitting in at Enchanted Garden.  Unintentional photobomb? The world may never know.

Sneak Peek Inside the Guest Rooms at the All New Walt Disney World Four Seasons Resort

If you don’t have a couple mill lying around for a home inside the Golden Oak subdivision at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, then you can book the next best thing soon…a room at the Four Seasons Resort.

Nestled within Golden Oak, the Four Seasons Resort Orlando is still under construction with an anticipated opening of Summer of 2014, but a friend tipped me off to some photos of the luxurious rooms that will be available once the cranes are lowered and the pixie dust settles around the resort property.

The color palette reminds me of the rooms at the Ritz Carlton Orlando. Lush!
