We recently brought you a photo tour of the accommodations at Holiday Inn Club Vacations Orange Lake Resort near Walt Disney World.
Today I want to take you on a tour of the most memorable part of our Orange Lake vacation! The River Island water park area of the property. This is a 12 acre Florida water wonderland! The best part…the 1,200 foot lazy river that winds around waterfalls and palm trees. Talk about relaxing!
My mother, who was with us on this vacation, is disabled and she was thrilled with the zero depth entry areas of the River Island pools which are all connected to each other by the lazy river. This was the first time in YEARS that she was able to actually get into a pool and lazy river. We had so much fun! Just watching her be able to experience something that she couldn’t do at other resorts warmed my heart!
Here is the pricing structure for the River Island activities. Of course general use of the pool and lazy river is free with your stay.
Laze away in the sandy hammock area adjacent to a lovely pool bar =)
Here’s a shot of just one section of the River Island pool area from the balcony of our fourth floor 2-bedroom villa (photo tour of that to come soon!)…
The “Fun Zone” area of River Island also features a HUGE waterslide called the HIPPO as well as a rock wall, put put golf, volleyball and a bungee jump.
How cool to be able to play on a “Championship” Put-Put Golf Course!
River Island also has a splash zone and the pool is open until 10 p.m.
Here’s a shot of the lazy river at night…
This area of the resort also offers shopping, dining and private cabanas. More on that in a future post. I hope you enjoyed this relaxing stroll through the water park area and if you want to book a vacation at Orange Lake Resort (8505 W Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy, Kissimmee, FL 34747) visit them online or call toll free 1-888-HOLIDAY.
My trip was sponsored by Holiday Inn Club Vacations, who provided me with a two-night stay. This post is solely my opinion and based on my experience without outside influence.
