Last year “Disney Every Day” broke news that Mrs. Brad Pitt would be starring in an upcoming story about Sleeping Beauty’s Maleficent.  The Walt Disney Studios announced today that production began Wednesday, June 13th, on “Maleficent”.

Directed by two-time Oscar®-winning production designer Robert Stromberg (“Avatar,” “Alice in Wonderland”), in his directorial debut, and produced by Joe Roth, “Maleficent” is written by Linda Woolverton (“The Lion King,” “Beauty and the Beast”) and executive produced by Angelina Jolie, Don Hahn, Matt Smith and Palak Patel.

Behind-the-scenes talent includes Academy Award®–winning cinematographer Dean Semler (“Dances with Wolves,” “In the Land of Blood and Honey”), production designer Gary Freeman (“Saving Private Ryan,” “The Bourne Supremacy”), two-time Oscar® nominated costume designer Anna B. “Maleficent” is scheduled for a March 14, 2014 release in 3D.

Pixar Teases Fans and Leaks Two New Animated Feature Films

Pixar Dinosaurs Movie

As fans waited with baited breath at the The Walt Disney Studios Presentation portion of the 2011 D23 Expo, Directors Bob Petersen and Pete Docter took the stage and flashed this graphic up on the wide screen!  A rousing round of cheers and applause filled the room as Disneyphiles got a first look at two new “unnamed” animated projects that Pixar is currently working on.

Dinosaur was one of the two films.  Imagine if dinosaurs were never extinct! How would they fit in to everyday life and what would the world be like?  We were also shown a piece of concept art which played with the idea that humans and dinos would be friends.  The shot was of a human child riding on the back of a brachiosaurus through a field with a warm sunset in the background.  Moviegoers will have to wait until November 2013 to meet these new prehistoric friends.

The second unnamed teaser film was about what goes on inside the human mind. It’s working title….”The Untitled Pixar Movie That Takes You Inside The Mind”. How’s that for creativity? lol The movie will explore how the thought process works?  Pixar tweeted this about the film…
