Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hosting Free Summer Olympics Event

The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel is celebrating the summer games with a special event in the Dolphin lobby featuring the broadcast of the opening ceremonies in London displayed on large screen televisions, complimentary food and beverage and an opportunity to meet with past summer games medalists.

The event will take place Friday, July 27 from 6 – 9pm and is open to hotel guests and the general public. On hand to interact, take photos and sign autographs with guests will be medalists: Wendy Bruce-Martin (’96 gymnast), Scott Johnson (‘84 and ’88 gymnast) and Fred Tyler (’72 swimmer). “Gold medal” cookies, British-themed edible treats and recreational activities for kids will all be part of the festivities at the Epcot Resort area hotel.

This year’s festivities will be going on Friday, October 12th and Saturday, October 13th, 2012 from 5:30pm – 9:00pm both evenings.

The event has all you care to eat morsels from the top restaurants in the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resorts. The wine and beer overflow and it is definitely worth the price of admission. Be sure and sign up for one of the specialty seminars (not included in the regular admission price). Who Wants Free Tickets to the Great American Pie Festival Never Ending Pie Buffet?

The 2012 Great American Pie Festival^®Sponsored by Crisco^®

When: Saturday, April 28th from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 29th from Noon to 5 p.m.

Where: Lakeside Park, Celebration, Florida. Right outside the gates of Walt Disney World!

What: Help preserve America’s pie heritage by taking part in the Never Ending Pie Buffet, pie eating contests, pie baking competitions, cooking demonstrations, PieCasso art, the Baker’s Square Pietopia stage with live music and entertainment, games and much more!

Cost: Admission is free; other than to the Never Ending Pie Buffet which is $10 Adults, $5 ages 65 and up; $5 ages 6-12. Five and under are free.

The JaMMitors Rap About Volunteerism in “Give a Day, Get a Disney Day”

My Twitter pal Thomas Smith just reported over at The Disney Parks Blog that the JaMMitors Tour Crew will be showcasing their talents on a 20-city US Tour which has already begun!
