When it comes to make up, there are three types of women. The women who don’t wear any, the ones who wear it to get the job done and the ones who go gaga over it. I’d say I’m neutral. I’ve been using the same brand of cosmetics for twenty years now and I don’t stray too far from what works for me.
This weekend I was invited to the launch of the new Beautifully Disney cosmetic line at TREN D in the Downtown Disney Marketplace. I had my reservations. I mean…it would take a lot to make me switch over from MY brand. And then when I got to the launch I saw that the Beautifully Disney line was not base cosmetics, but rather complementary cosmetics. Specifically eye shadow ($27.95 quad), nail polish ($8.95) and lip gloss ($14.95). THIS I could get into.
The branding geniuses at Disney came up with a clever concept for the first release of the the line. “Wickedly Beautiful” consists of 8 polishes, 8 glosses and 8 eye shadows packaged in two color palettes. It’s your classic storyline of good vs evil with female villains and princesses adorning the packaging.
I don’t own a single lip stick. Only gloss. So these products really appealed to me
Getting a little “Envy of the Ball” Gloss from one of the makeup artists on hand at the event.
The gloss she applied went on sheer with a hint of sparkle.
I think the nail polish has a perfect price point at $8.95.
You can even purchase a mini set and try out all four colors in the warm and cool palettes.
I spotted three different cosmetics bags to complement the line.
We were told that there will be seasonal launches for upcoming lines but that current lines will remain in stores as well. Two future lines to be released in 2013 will include “Unlock the Spell” and “Fiery Spirit”.
Don’t have an upcoming Disney vacation scheduled yet? No worries. Select products can be purchased online at disneyparks.com/store or via phone by calling the merchandise line (877-560-6477).
As a member of the media I was provided with samples of the product. all opinions are my own.
