If you’ve thought about a vacation at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground but you don’t have access to a travel trailer or you don’t want to shell out $300 a night for one of the cabins then you might really like what Meacham’s has to offer.
This family owned and operated business has a fleet of well maintained luxury travel trailers that you can use on your next Walt Disney World vacation…and the best part…they deliver the RV to you! That’s right, simply take the Magical Express or your rental car to the Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground and Meacham will meet you there, travel trailer in tow, and set everything up for you right at your campsite!
This weekend I met up with the owners of the rental business at Fort Wilderness to take a tour of one of the larger models. The unit was set up with power and water lines already run as well as the awning and all “porch” comforts arranged outside. The chairs and rug come standard with the unit.

As you can see the slide out had already been set up.

We’re getting close to Halloween and I just loved the holiday touches made to the unit!

The inside of the RV was immaculate and even though it was a little warm outside, the inside of the travel trailer was nice and cool thanks to the ducted central AC.
This trailer was outfitted with a queen bed, two bunk beds, a pull out sofa and a pull down dinette bed.

The cable TV and DVD player will also be set up for you.

You’ve got a full kitchen setup with microwave, oven, stove top, sink, fridge, freezer and coffee maker. You’re even supplied with coffee (Folgers…not that Nestle stuff you get in a regular WDW resort) and all necessary dishes, glasses, cooking and cleaning supplies including dish soap, trash bags, paper towels and a 4-pack of RV toilet paper.

Here’s the rear bunk bed setup. The bottom bunk is slightly larger than the top and might even accommodate two smaller children. To the right of the bunk beds is hanging closet space.

Situated in between the dual bunks and the kitchen is a full bathroom complete with shower, tub, sink and toilet. Of course, there’s always a comfort station within walking distance in every loop at the Ft. Wilderness Resort should you need access to it when traveling with larger parties.

Meacham’s offers a seven-night Fort Wilderness package for this trailer for $900. When you factor in the additional price of the campsite lot rental, that works out to about $200 total per night during value season…a $100 savings per night over a Fort Wilderness Cabin! You can even add on the option of a golf cart for $180. A 7-day golf cart rental from Disney will run you over $440! If you’ve ever stayed at the campgrounds you know how essential a golf cart can be when navigating the resort property. Bikes? They’ve got those too!

As I mentioned before, this is a family owned and operated business. Andrew and Carrie Meacham have been doing this for over four years now and told me that they had several of their units in use at the campgrounds on the day I visited. And…not only are they they the owners, but they are also clients and I loved to hear they they were big Disney fans too!

Don’t need a camper this big? No worries, Meacham’s has medium and smaller hybrid campers as well.
