Oz The Great and Powerful,” directed by Sam Raimi, imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum’s beloved wizard character. When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot—fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity—and even a bit of wizardry—Oscar transforms himself not only into the great wizard but into a better man as well.

“STAR WARS: Episode 7″ Feature Film Targeted for Release in 2015

star wars

On the heels of the announcement that Disney will be acquiring LucasFilm for an estimated $4.05 billion…we also learn that there will be a STAR WARS: Episode 7 in the works with a release date set for 2015! #AndtheCrowdGoesWILD

Bob Iger states, “Star Wars in particular is a strong global brand, and one of the greatest family entertainment franchises of all time, with hundreds of millions of fans around the globe. Its universe of more than 17,000 characters inhabiting several thousand planets spanning 20,000 years offers infinite inspiration and opportunities – and we’re already moving forward with plans to continue the epic Star Wars saga.

The last Star Wars movie release was 2005’s Revenge of the Sith – and we believe there’s substantial pent up demand. In 2015, we’re planning to release Star Wars Episode 7 – the first feature film under the “Disney-Lucasfilm” brand. That will be followed by Episodes 8 and 9 – and our long term plan is to release a new Star Wars feature film every two to three years. We’re very happy that George Lucas will be creative consultant on our new Star Wars films and that Kathleen Kennedy, the current Co-Chair of Lucasfilm, will executive produce. George handpicked Kathy earlier this year to lead Lucasfilm into the future. She’ll join Disney as President of Lucasfilm, reporting into Walt Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn and integrating and building the Star Wars franchise across our company.”

First Image from Upcoming Disney Movie “Frozen”

Disney Movie Frozen Snow Queen

“Walt Disney Studios has made an official announcement regarding their new animated feature Frozen, and along with it comes the first full synopsis. The film was actually borne out of the long development of The Snow Queen, which was put on hold in 2010 due to story issues. The pic came back with a new title and a November 2013 release date, and now Disney has confirmed a voice cast consisting of Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel, with Broadway vets Robert Lopez (The Book of Mormon) and Kristen Anderson-Lopez (Winnie the Pooh) tapped to pen original songs for the feature.

Bell voices a young dreamer named Anna who teams up with “a daring mountain man” to find the Snow Queen (Menzel) and put an end to a spell that has trapped their kingdom in eternal winter. Chris Buck (Tarzan) is onboard as director, and the fairy tale-esque story combined with the addition of two talented songwriters hints that Frozen may harken back to Disney’s earlier animated films. Hit the jump to read the full press release, which includes the synopsis.” ~ via Collider

Throughout the month of October, fearless guests are invited to join in the spook-tacular Halloween celebrations, full of tricks and treats galore.

Mickey-shaped pumpkins will cover Town Square on Main Street USA as the Disneyland Paris resort turns a shade of orange. Put on your scariest fancy dress costume and celebrate all night at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, held every Friday in October. Mickey is joined by a host of Disney characters in this youngster-friendly mini parade, which is great for the whole family.

Disney’s Maleficent Halloween Party will be held every day and will be hosted by the evil Maleficent who plans to cast a wicked spell over Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. Scrumptious treats for kids rain down from the sky during the climax of the show, which is packed full of spine-tingling surprises. Survivors from Maleficent’s Party should be able to pluck up the courage to get a chilling photo with one of their favorite Disney villains, from Captain Hook to Cruella de Vil, who will be making appearances throughout the park.

One of the scariest parts of the Festival is Terrorific Night at the Walt Disney Studios Park. Many attractions have their very own spooky surprises in store for guests and nothing will ever be as it seems. For two nights only, some of the most gruesome Disney characters will be lurking around every corner, waiting to pounce.

Taking place on October 31st, Disney’s Halloween Party is the pinnacle of the Festival and promises to be the highlight of Disneyland Paris holidays. As well as several attractions being open throughout the evening, the party features the Fantillusion Parade led by a host of Disney villains and the special Halloween Light and Sound Show with spectacular projections and pyrotechnics.

Come join in the frightful fun at Disneyland Paris in October – if you dare!
