Miles of garland, ribbon, twinkling lights and glitter transform Walt Disney World Resort into a winter wonderland during the holiday season. Here’s a sample of what guests will experience throughout the Vacation Kingdom:
- 1,300 decorated trees throughout property
- A wreath 25 feet in diameter adorning the Cirque du Soleil building at Downtown Disney West Side

Walt Disney World sure knows how to throw a party! Friday my family and friends attended the 2011 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in the Magic Kingdom and I compiled a list of the “Top 10 Perks of MVMCP”.

My daughter and her friend on Splash Mountain with no one else in the log flume. Granted it was very cold this night however it was also Veteran’s Day and a SOLD OUT party and we still walked on all of the rides!

Gaylord Palms Resort Orlando Reveals 2011 ICE! Theme
This weekend I attended a special unveiling ceremony for ICE! 2011 at the Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando, Florida right outside the gates of Walt Disney World.
Some of you may remember last years ICE! theme of “Twas the Night Before Christmas”. This year’s theme is going to be “Shrek the Halls”. The DreamWorks theme will be continued throughout the resort with the new DreamWorks Experience (more on that in a future post)
Lots of DreamWorks Christmas time fun can be had along with your tour of ICE! when you book a room at the Gaylord Palms. Kids can decorate gingerbread with “Gingy”. There will be a special DreamWorks welcome package along with character Meet and Greets. Families can also enjoy a 3D Dinner and DreamWorks Movie Experience as well as scavenger hunts! You can even wake up your little ones with special character Wake Up Calls!
