“Welcome to the Himalayas! Snow Cone?” ~ Abominable Snowman Monsters, Inc.
I had this crazy dream… A new Disney VoluntEAR spotted on the 2010 Walt Disney World Marathon sidelines handing out snowcones. (Don’t worry…they’re lemon.)
Was it a nightmare Fantasmic? Mother Nature has plans to unleash her fury on thousands of Disney Guests and runners this weekend, sending the mercury plummeting into Frozen Tundra territory.
The horticulturists at Epcot have started preparing for what’s to come within the next 72 hours as Walt Disney World buckles down for one of the coldest weekends on record here in Central Florida.

Blankets of Tyvek have been draped over the most delicate of flowers as to protect them from the freezing rain and dare I say…snow that is forecast to descend from the heavens this weekend.

I can hear you all now, “Snow! In Florida????” Don’t believe me? Here’s what I snapped on my out of Epcot this evening…Girl Scout’s Honor!…

But really ya’ll…the temperatures are taking a nose dive here in the heart of The Magic.

Apparently the cast members at the Walt Disney World Resort believe that the show must go on and they were working diligently setting up for the 2010 WDW Marathon Weekend. Here are some shots I snapped on the way out to my car this evening. This was set up in the cast member parking lot just outside of the Epcot Kennel.

And I have no idea how this fits into the race but it was pretty awesome!…

To everyone who runs in the Marathon this weekend, Good Luck! And I hope that you are christened with a Mylar Blanket at the end of the race…you’ll need it!
Until Next Time,
