Sneak Peek at the 2010 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival

2010 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival

I just got back from an afternoon at Epcot and preparations for the 2010 Flower and Garden Festival are in full swing.  I snapped as many pictures as I could while out touring the grounds.  The theme for this year’s festival is “Celebrate the Great Outdoors” and it will run from March 3rd until May 16th.

There’s an exciting new foodie element to this year’s festival (Garden Town Breakfast) and you can read all about it over on my good friend AJ’s Disney Food Blog.

So without further ado…your sneak peek pictures guys and dolls…

wow…looks like a lot of the topiary ideas are being reused from last year. They're still neat :) Thansk so much for the sneak peek. Its so neat to see the plants just starting & see how beautifully grown they are when the festival is over. :( I *really* like the butterfly pin!!

  • I love it Amanda! What a great post, I love all the work they've done in the short amount of time that I was there! I can't believe how amazing they are! The pins are really fun for this year, fun that you got pics of them already! :) I forgot about the perfume bottles from last year's festival…those were so cool! We'll miss it this year but I'm sure we'll be there for F&W then during the holidays for sure!! There's always 2011 for F&G! 😀 Thanks for posting this ~ love it!

  • so pretty! thanks for sharing!

  • Thanks Maria…Yep…lots of topiary encores. Some new stuff too that is under wraps at the moment and a Dining Experience!

  • Thanks J…On a side note…I spoke with a horticulturist there last year and asked how they grew and stored all of the plant s that they bring out for the festival and was told that they bring many of them in from other nurseries. Who knew?

  • You are welcome…. =)

  • Thanks Amanda for posting such a beautiful video!!

  • Amy

The floating planters are my favorite. Thanks for putting this post together!

  • You're welcome. I just adore that Cyndi Lauper song. Glad you enjoyed it =)

    Hi Amanda,
Thank you for the sneak peek! Someday I hope to see this Flower Show in person.

  • I am so pumped about this! I cannot wait to get there and take in every bit of it.

Last year, I had my Mom with me, and she got tired quickly, and I had to leave and take her back to the hotel. This year, I am SO taking my time and photographing and checking out EVERYTHING!

…and I'm glad they are putting up the playgrounds again. Josh loved those! See you soon sister!

  • Yeah, I noticed that too. Sort of disppointed with that, but love that they are repeating Lady & the Tramp as that was one country I missed last year.

  • Counting down the days!

  • Aurora and I have decided that Italy is the best one in World Showcase for Flower and Garden Festival

  • cbg1027

Thanks for the preview Amanda! I leave in two weeks and so glad they're starting the festival early this year so I can catch it on my spring break!

  • You are so very welcome! They started the festival earlier this year so that visitors will have time to see everything before they plant their gardens for the Spring.

Can't wait to see this! Heading over to EPCOT for my birthday at the end of April – this is going to be an amazing way to spend the day!

  • Be sure and check out Garden Town in The Wonders of Life Pavilion. It's not too often that you get to go in there anymore. Just for special events

  • Crista

anybody know if the Flamingo with Mickey ears garden statue has been restocked (it's shown in the festival guide)- or know how tall it is?

  • That looks like so much fun. I’m going to have to take my kids this year. We have gone in the past, but nothing compares to seeing it in person. I am very excited about the Lion King area. I’m a huge fan.

  • They really out did themselves this year with the topiaries. The giraffes were stunningly real

  • Puppet_Micha

I was there and it was absolutely amazing. I'm going to participate next year for sure. It really inspired me to get to work and start making my passion for flowers an actual job. Recommend this to anyone.

I was very impressed by the giraffes too, it seems they tried really hard and managed to put together a great arrangement this year.
