I just returned home from a staycation at the elegant Ritz-Carlton Orlando Resort. This hotel is located just minutes from the Orlando area theme parks, airport and convention center but is nestled on an oasis of over 500 acres of lush Florida landscape so you feel “close to” yet “away from it all” at the same time.
I’ve stayed in dozens of resorts in the Orlando area and I have to say this hotel is among one of the most posh. If I had to try and draw a comparison I would place it in the same category as the Waldorf Astoria at Bonnet Creek.
The Tiffany blue and gold color palette soothe while the furnishings invoke a modern elegance.
In the evening you’re treated to turn down service complete with chocolates.
Our room was located on the 11th floor (Room 1103) and had sweeping views of the pool, lawns, lakes and golf course from the private balcony. We were also treated to a dueling fireworks show in the evening from the balcony while Epcot’s “Illuminations” and Magic Kingdom’s “Wishes” were being conducted simultaneously.
Closet lights turns on automatically when the doors are opened and turn off when they are closed.
One of the best parts. The oversized marble bathroom with separate bathtub and shower.
The attention to detail is amazing! Forget something at home? No worries. The bathroom was fully stocked with shampoo, conditioner, soap, shower gel, moisturizer, dental kit, shave kit, sewing kit, comb, bathrobes and slippers.
Travel + Leisure magazine named the Ritz-Carlton Orlando as one of the Top 100 US Hotels from 2007-2012, and for good reason. Our stay at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando was nothing short of exquisite. Stay tuned for my review of the spa, dining and kayak eco-tour to follow.
The Ritz-Carlton Orlando is located at 4012 Central Florida Parkway, Orlando, FL 32837. Reservations can be made by calling (800) 682-3665 or by visiting The Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes.
Special thanks to the Ritz-Carlton Orlando for hosting my stay. All opinions are my own.
