Orlando Florida Sixt Car Rental Review – Use This Agency on Your Next Disney Vacation

Sixt Car Rental Orlando International AirportThis year O-Town welcomed a new car rental agency to the Orlando International Airport area…Sixt Car Rental.  But this isn’t your average run-of-the-mill rental agency. This is a fine tuned 100-year-old family run operation with 4,000 locations worldwide in over 100 countries.

Last week I had the opportunity to work with Sixt.  The Orlando location is literally across the street from the Orlando International Airport. I could see planes landing from the lot.  Sixt has a shuttle service from MCO that runs every 10-15 minutes. The day I picked up my vehicle (Thursday) I spotted two separate shuttle vans but was told that there are three in operation  on busier days.

This particular Walt Disney World vacation had us staying off Disney property and our Sixt Chevy Equinox came is real handy for getting from our resort to the parks!  I loved the fact that the vehicle had less than 600 miles on it when we picked it up and it was immaculate!

When we picked up the car we were in and out lickety split. No waiting around for a vehicle to be readied. We were probably at the rental lot less than 15 minutes.

They have SUV’s to vans to compacts to crossovers.  I was really digging this Mercedes! Too bad it was only a 2-seater!

One thing to note is that you must have a major credit card to rent from Sixt. They will not accept and place a hold on your debit card so keep that in mind when traveling.  I also found the return process a breeze! An employee came out with a handheld device, took a quick look around and inside and then I was on my way. My final receipt was emailed to me shortly thereafter.

If you are flying into Orlando and are looking for a rental company, this one comes highly recommended by DisneyEveryDay.com. Sixt is located at 7855 North Frontage Road, Orlando, FL 32812.  They are open 24 hours a day.  If you’re ready to book your rental car for your next Orlando vacation you can visit Sixt online at Sixt.com or call (888) 941-7498 and here’s a special link to receive 5% off your next rental with Sixt!

Special thanks to Sixt for providing me with a complementary rental. All opinions are my own.

Stay away from Sixt, in Orlando at least, they are crooked and will go after you months after you leave🤥

I have been renting cars for 25 years and this is by far the worst rental company I’ve ever used.
I prepaid for my Mini-van in Feb 2017 for a rental in Aug. arrived at the rental office in Orlando at approx 1:00am and as you can see that despite a few customers, we had to wait over 2 hours to receive vehicles. People were actually sleeping on their luggage in the parking lot.
The attendant was accepting people with no reservations ahead of people with reservations for cash. You can see the $ dropped by the person in front of me on the counter. (They later shared with me that they had no reservation but paid the counterperson.)
My mini-van was reserved and on the lot, but the attendant was unable to process the transaction because “they didn’t teach me how to process this kind of reservation. This was after a two hr wait. The mini-van was needed for my wife’s mobility scooter.
The attendant, after a long argument, gave me an SUV because my family had been sleeping for hours on our luggage in the parking lot. She explained “just call in the morning and someone will deliver your minivan.”
The next morning, I called the Orlando office for 2 hours. I then called the Ft. Lauderdale office and they also could not contact Orlando Office. Customer service in Ft. Lauderdale instructed me to drive back to the office to exchange the vehicle.
I did this, driving approx 50+ miles and killing a day of vacation.
Customer service response was a 2 minute phone call, a $25 dollar voucher on a future rental, and they ” would waive any refueling fee for the first vehicle.” ($6-$8 total.)
I received another e-mail stating that I would be receiving a two day discount (total $38) instead of the $25 voucher after review by branch managers. They considered this a major refund and a big deal.
Basically I was charged almost $600 for a rental car and had to put up with all of this nonsense, which was not due to anything I as a customer did. The only mistake I made was using this joke of a company to rent a car
Do yourself and your family a favor, and use a reputable company that may charge a little more, but stands by its customers. Something like this could NEVER HAPPEN with Hertz, Avis, Enterprise, or even Budget. Sixt is terrible and I would advise any customer to look elsewhere. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/bda80ba01dce67c2b61d42eab2d6f2b1990ec427347943908335568755f14775.jpg https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/7c8beafbecb8c61c50f72bbe878d5dd727520d4da173bc488f865a88ff14953b.jpg
