By Amanda Tinney

This past week ushered in a groundbreaking event at the Walt Disney World Resort. The very first Disney Social Media Moms Celebration. And although it was a Mom’s celebration…there was still a very important Dad that was present at the event. It was none other than WDW Radio’s Lou Mongello!  And despite the rumors…Mongello is strikingly tall…photo proof:

But seriously folks…Lou was completely outnumbered by the gaggle of “Disney Social Media Mom” Female Disney Pros and he handled himself with grace and dignity and a sprinkling of Joe Jonas. (sorry Lou) Even taking the time to sit with us and do a round-table discussion for this Week’s WDW Radio Show #157.

Watch as Lou attempts to tell you, “I don’t know them”.  When surrounded by the Disney Girl Posse…

I would like to take a moment to show you some pics of our podcast segment with Lou, as well as introduce you to some of the most amazing women I have had the pleasure of spending time with.  All of the photos below were snapped by the “unofficial” Disney Social Media Moms Celebration photographer Lynne Ronemous and you can view all of her amazing photos on her Flickr Stream.

  • Amanda, thanks for this posting. I stumbled on the Disney Social Media Moms event online last week, and got completely wrapped-up in everything that was going on. It was great to be able to follow along with the events while snowed-in here in Indiana. The best part of this post is that your photos point-out who everyone is and their sites.

And Lou, you really are an inspiration! And the luckiest man in Epcot last week! Thanks for sharing your interviews with these lovely ladies, and with Tom Smith, in the show.

    Have a great weekend, everyone!
  • Oh my gosh Brian...you are awesome. Thank You for your kind words! I'm glad we could serve as entertainment for you last week. =D I don't know what its like to be snowed in, but I can imagine it's like being shut in during a hurricane here...only colder and with TV/Internet.

I'm so jealous I missed out. I don't have any kids (hoping my furry ones count) but my Disney-loving-social-media-mind missed out! From the line up, it was certainly a great event! These are the SM guys I learn from daily. Thanks for sharing Amanda - I'm hoping for next year!

  • See you there GIRL!
  • I'm so jealous! Is Lou as cute in person as he sounds on his podcast and from "the box"? I write a green living blog, and I know that Disney has always been at the forefront of environmental action. My goal for the past few months has been to do some blog posts about how green Disney is, but I just haven't had the time to dot the research to do it right!

    Sounds like a great conference!
  • Yep...Lou is a cutie and very charming.

You might get some green inspiration from this post http://www.disneyeveryday.com/disney-channel-st...
  • All of you dedicated Disney bloggers are so awesome. Thank you for coming and sharing this experience with us.

(I just wish I lived in Orlando and could be there more often.)
  • The door is always open here for you. Definitely give us a heads up and we will arrange a TweetUp on your next trip. Hopefully it will be before 2011 Disney Social Media Moms Celebration. Oh please say there will be one!
  • Great post Amanda! I love the picture of you and Lou!
  • Thanks girl. I thought it looked like I was trying to catch flies. LOL!
  • Awesome! You are all FABULOUS! Each. And. Every. One. Of. YOU! Yay!!!!
  • I have a pic of Flat You being held by Lou. Will have to send it to ya!
  • Thanks so much for posting this, Amanda! I had an incredible time spending the day with all of the wonderful ladies (Lou Mongello was the luckiest man in Epcot that day, my friends...)! You guys are amazing, and I hope to see you all again in WDW soon! See you on Main Street! ;)
  • You're an inspiration Lou. Thanks for making each one of us feel so special that day! YOU are a Rockstar!
  • I'm still smiling about this! What an amazing 'adventure' with all of you! I miss you all! :)
  • We will have to schedule another episode with Lou for #DisneySMMoms2011
