Animal Kingdom…I must admit that I don’t get out there as much as I do some of the other Walt Disney World parks. One of my favorite things to do when I eventually make a trek out to Animal Kingdom is to visit the Asian Otters…one of Animal Kingdom’s Overlooked Attractions. They are so playful and highly entertaining. (and you don’t even need a FastPass!) If you haven’t taken the time to visit this small but whimsical family, make it a point to do so on your next visit. You’ll be glad that you did.
The otter trio is located on the southwest side of Discovery Island. There are two distinct sections to the otter viewing area. The first section is located down a flight of stairs and gives you a view of the family from below the waterline. The second viewing area can be found at the top of the handicapped ramp and will give you a view from above the waterline. This is, in my humble opinion, the better area for viewing. You can watch the family dip in and out of the water as they play and chase each other on and off their island home.
Pop in and see Mr. and Mrs. Otter and their pup on your next trip to Animal Kingdom and tell them Amanda sent ya!
