Free Segway Rides at Epcot’s Segway Central in Innoventions
Segways! You see managers zipping to and fro inside of the Disney parks on these things daily. There are even paid tours you can take through Epcot and Fort Wilderness on a Segway. The paid tours will run you just shy of $100. However…did you know that you can test drive a Segway free of charge at Segway Central in Epcot? Let me explain…
This is a story about my friends Don and Mary and Toni and Bob…and the Segway. I met Don and Mary on Twitter and then met up with them at La Cava del Tequila in Epcot last month while they were touring with Bob and Toni.

After finishing our beverages and riding Soarin’, I asked Don if he had ever taken the free Segway Tour in Epcot’s Innoventions. He told me that he had never even heard of such an experience made available to guests. I have to tell you…Don and his wife Mary are big Disney fans. (Don has his own blog dedicated to WDCC Pieces called Duckman’s Blog) I figured if Don had never heard of Segway Central, then maybe some of you out there might not have known about it either. So here’s the scoop and some pics and video.
Different types of Segway vehicles on display
Segway Central is located in Innoventions West at the Epcot Theme Park. You must be 16 years old to ride and weigh less than 250 lbs. You will also be required to sign a waiver before the experience. The mini-tour lasts about 5 minutes but is a great way to get your feet wet and see if the more expensive tours would be fun for you.
