This weekend a few hundred loyal blog readers, who were tipped off by a blog post on the Disney Parks Blog, headed out to a Special “Wreck-it-Ralph Game Day Meet Up” at Downtown Disney in Walt Disney World.
The festivities began at the DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive Theme Park where guests checked in and were gifted with a “Wreck-it-Ralph” temporary tattoo and an amazing “HERO” Medal. When you see the film for yourself (and I hope you will) you’ll understand the significance of this gift. Here’s a shot of some cast members working the event in front of a magnificent “Sugar Rush” background.
As runDisney participants, my daughter and I really appreciated the medal!
Upon entering DisneyQuest, guests were treated to a photo opp with life sized lead character Wreck-it-Ralph.
and then had the opportunity to actually play the game Fix It Felix Jr. Not only that, but the entire DisneyQuest Interactive Theme Park was fair game…for two full hours meet-up guests had use of anything and everything DisneyQuest had to offer.
I hadn’t been to DisneyQuest in years and so I had to head down with a few of my friends for a friendly game of bumper car dodge ball at Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters…may favorite game there.
But one of the highlights of the DisneyQuest experience was this…
Moist red velvet cake with a decadent cream cheese frosting rolled in crushed Heath Bar candy pieces. Oh yeah! Big thanks to Mrs. Hidden Mickey Guy for sharing with me.
Then it was off to prescreen “Wreck-it-Ralph” at the AMC Downtown Disney 24 theater. Guests had been tagged with wristbands at check-in to help ease the process into the theaters. We were broken up into teams: Ralph, Felix and Vanellope and given different arrival times. We were also treated to a snack…a bag of white cheddar popcorn and a bottle of soda.
Walt Disney Animation Studios knocked it out of the arcade with “Wreck-it-Ralph”! I laughed. I almost cried. And I missed out on some inside jokes that only gamers understood, judging from the laughs I heard from my fellow movie goers. Go see “Wreck-it-Ralph” in theaters November 2nd.
And keep your eye on the Disney Parks Blog. I hear tell there’s going to be a “Be Our Guest” Meet Up next month!
