THE MAIN STREET ELECTRICAL PARADE IS PACKED UP AND PREPARED FOR SHIPPING

THE MAIN STREET ELECTRICAL PARADE TIMELINE

Disney's Electrical Parade1972-1996           Parade debuts at Disneyland

June 14, 1997   One performance in New York City as the Hercules Electrical Parade

1999-2001         Relocated to the Magic Kingdom in the Walt Disney World Resort

2001-2010        Moved to Disney’s California Adventure

June 2010         Return to Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom for Summer Nightastic

** Due to the huge success of the Main Street Electrical Parade at Disneyland, a second parade was created which opened at WDW’s Magic Kingdom in 1977 and ran until 1991. That parade was then relocated to Disneyland Paris where it ran from 1992-2003

    You have such amazing experiences, Amanda! You Lucky Dog! Thank you for allowing us to tag along and feel like we are behind the scenes right there beside you. I always wanted to know how the whirly worked – I want to be a whirly driver!!! I have loved this parade since I was a kid. I remember watching it and being mesmerized by it all – the lights, music, characters. Thankfully my kids and I were able to see this lovely parade one last time before it headed out your way. We grabbed a great spot curbside on the last night of its run at CA Adventure. We clapped, cheered and bopped along with the music. I got choked up as the “To Honor America” float passed by because I knew that it would be leaving (wait, wiping tear away…) to go to FL. I love that with Disney you get to share the experiences that you had as a child with your own children. That's the magic.

    Thanks Lynnette. I know I am blessed to be able to attend some of the functions out at Walt Disney World. I too remember this parade as a child and am excited to hear that music playing once again on Main Street USA

    There was just something special about the Main Street Electrical Parade back in the day. I remember the chills that I had as a kid when I heard that music. It was always fun to wonder if Elliot the Dragon would breath smoke on us while he passed by. So many wonderful Disney memories.
