Remarkable – adj. unusual, striking or extraordinary

Stephanie Santana’s culinary creations are remarkable.  Disney Design Artists craft masterpieces out of oil, canvas, metal, fabric and vinyl, amongst other things. Stephanie crafts edible Disney Masterpieces out of sugar, flour, eggs and butter.

On her blog, Sweet Creations, Stephanie shares the steps that she took to create Magic in her kitchen for one lucky princess’s birthday.

Tinker Bell never looked so good…or scrumptious.

This homage to the famous fairy is crafted out of strawberry cake, fondant and fluffy vanilla buttercream.  Stephanie used the Wilton Wonder Pan to bake the cake into this shape. The ridged detail was achieved with the Wilton Decorating Comb.  Tink’s Sunflower bed is made out of fondant which has been shaped by inverting the Wilton Wonder Pan…

Fluffy Vanilla Buttercream
1/4 c butter
pinch of salt
2 c sifted powdered sugar
3 T milk or light cream
1/4 t vanilla

Whip the butter until fluffy. Gradually add in 1 cup of the powdered sugar and reduce speed to low, add in the liquid, salt and flavoring. Last the rest of the powdered sugar. If firmer icing is needed, add in a bit more powdered sugar, if softer icing is needed, add in a bit more of the milk. Flavor as desired.
