  • My first memory of the Parade is seeing it as the halftime show at the Orange Bowl back in the late '70's. How has the parade changed in its many incarnations since its inception? What types of creative work are the Imagineers doing on this production of the parade, or is it entirely a re-staging/remounting of an existing attraction?
  • Amy W.
How much planning time goes into a parade of this magnitude? Did pre-planning begin last summer or at the beginning of this year? Do you try to re-use parts from other attractions, parades or vehicles or start fresh from the ground up?
  • Jon
How does the Main Street Electrical Parade Imagineering team balance the pressure to deliver a "classic" parade to those of us looking for nostalgia versus the ability to update the parade and really "wow" people with new technology, new characters, etc.?
  • What is the biggest challenge in bringing the MSEP back to WDW? And will it say MAIN STREET ELECTRICAL PARADE (which is very important to some of us!) :)
  • Cheyenne P.
How many cast members are in the parade and how much time (days, weeks) does it take for them to prepare for this parade and learn the dances/motions to the music?
  • Michelle Price
The MSEP is one of two memories I have from my first trip to WDW many, many moons ago. What's your favorite MSEP memory and how has that affected your work on the parade?
  • How many batteries and lights are used in this parade and what is new and different that we should be looking for this time around?
  • Renee Walsh
What are those characters that appear in the beginning of the parade that have large heads, ride on the lit spheres, and have scarey clown like facial expressions? I have never liked those even as an adult.
  • Those are actually from Spectromagic, and they are called the SpectroMen according to a friend who used to play as Tigger at WDW.
  • Amy
In the interest of going green, do you use LED lights in any of the floats? If so, how many do you use and how often do the bulbs have to be changed to keep the parade glowing?
  • Adam Manno
Are the lights on the floats LED? If they are, how long did it take to convert to the LEDs from traditional lights?
  • I would ask how the advances in Light technology in recent years affects upkeep of the parade.
  • Gary
What was your biggest challenge preparing Main Street Electrical Parade for Nightastic?
  • What is the the most difficult part of replacing/changing classic pieces from the parade? Do you think about what the hardcore Disney fans will think or say? (i.e. when replacing the Blue Fairy with Tinker Bell)
  • Jo
I would ask if I could see the sketches...lol! I'm always interested in the art behind the experience!

How about...how are colors chosen for each item in the parade? Are you cognizent to the items in front and behind and how the colors will follow one another...?

  • I'd like to know how they went about creating the themes for each float - what the creative process was, and how many 'drafts' it took to get a final version of each float!
